Water damage is something that can come in different shapes and sizes especially in Orlando in the summer rainy season. There are situations where we are literally going to be poking at the wall and getting waves of water. Other times, which, is what usually tends to happen you notice water damage a bit late. So what is going to happen is that the stucco is going to bubble a bit. In some cases, it may also lose the color and texture. That is when you are going to be able to tell. Spotting Water Damage

The thing is, it would be wise of you to take a walk around your home a couple of days after there have been some rains. At times though the damage can be coming from the inside out and not the outside in. So it would actually be even better if you would take the time now and then to inspect your home to see if you notice anything that would seem odd.
 
Prevention Is Always Better 
 
Unlike some other areas of the home, we really can’t spray a lot of different chemicals and call that prevention. We sincerely believe that inspection is the best way to prevent issues. That does not mean that every time that you see a crack you are going to have to freak out and give us a call. That is definitely not what we are looking for. Getting to know your home and what it is supposed to look like, makes spotting potential issues that much easier whether they be moisture related or not!  
 
Should I Worry About My EIFS?
 
We are going to have to give a yes and no answer to this question. We know that even we say that EIFS is more prone to water damage. That is because it is true, but if you have been living in a home for years and you have not had a problem things should not change overnight. This actually tends to mean that the EIFS was placed correctly. Other than the inspection tips that we gave out we really don’t believe you should be too worried.
 
Proper Water Damage Repair Is Going To Be Pretty Extensive
 
Most of the times when we have to do a stucco hole repair it is really not that big a deal. When there is water involved we are going to have to come in and remove the entire area that was filled with water. Replace the inner layers of the stucco finish and work our way up from there. So, if someone tells you that you have or had water damage and they finish up really quickly they may just be lying to you!
