As we have mentioned in other areas of the site stucco patching is going to vary depending on the extent of the damage and the type of stucco that we are going to be working with. For the most part, patching is actually going to be a bit less complex than helping with water damage. We are not saying that this is going to be easy. What tends to happen though is that people see a huge crack or a large hole in the wall and they freak out. The first thing that they are thinking is that the repairs are going to be costly and difficult. That is not necessarily the case!
 
We May Tear Down Before We Build Back Up
 
Since we already mentioned that people have a tendency to overreact to these situations we want to go ahead and give you a word of warning. In certain situations, we may need to actually widen the crack or the hole to be able to repair it correctly. We want to make sure that this is understood. We do this to make sure that we will be able to smooth out a lot of the edges. That way we can come in and seal the cracks fairly quickly. We are not trying to cause more damage to charge more money, which, is something that someone accused us of!
 
Flexible Sealants  
 
If you have a small crack applying flexible sealants is probably going to be the best way to fix the issue. If you read through the last paragraph you may be thinking that we are saying things that are a bit contradicting. All we can say to that is, it is very similar to when you cut yourself. Some injuries are going to be good with a band-aid others are going to need stitches. Flexible sealants act as band-aids for smaller cracks. If you have a bigger problem that is another story!
 
Why Waterproof? 
 
In our opinion waterproofing is very important. Especially here in Orlando where we are going to have to be dealing with a lot of moisture. The waterproofing process is actually not that complex. A lot of times all that we have to do is fix some minor issues that we can find with the wall. After we do that we let them dry out and then we apply the waterproofing paint. This is a process that can be done every few years.
 
Don’t Let Problems Develop 
 
We come across this problem all of the time with people. It is tough to have to give us a call after spotting every minor problem. We know that 99.9% of you are just not going to do it. To be honest one crack is not going to be the end of the world. If you start noticing that one crack continues to grow or more start to form, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
